Intermediate Corporate Paralegal Opportunity (Position Filled)

Rockies Law Corporation, Southeast BC’s regional law firm, is seeking an intermediate level Corporate Paralegal to join our team, based in our Cranbrook office.

Responsibilities will include:

• Company incorporations

• Corporate and Tax reorganizations

• Amalgamations

• Share structure and article alterations

• Redemptions, retractions and repurchases

• Restorations, dissolutions, change of name, ownership registration

• Dividends

• Changes to Directors, Officers and Shareholders

• Minute book maintenance

• Liaising with external parties on share and asset purchases

• Communications with lawyers, accountants and clients

• Quality control of service delivery

• Review of Corporate department systems, manual and electronic, with recommendations for potential efficiencies

• Assignment of work within the Corporate department

Qualifications and Qualities:

• Legal Administrative / Paralegal certification from a recognized institution

• Minimum if 3-5 years of experience as a Corporate Paralegal

• Attention to detail and a desire to be proactive and create a positive experience for others

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• A willingness to learn, a real team player and ready to help the business in its continued growth

• Excellent Microsoft Office skills and a working knowledge of PCLaw and ECORP would be an asset
